NCDEQ Releases 2018 Year in Review
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) has posted on their website a statement of key achievements and a summary of specific programmatic activities in 2018. Key achievements include:
- Governor Cooper's Executive Order 80, giving DEQ a leadership role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing energy consumption in state-owned buildings, and increasing the number of zero-emission vehicles
- Secretary Regan's establishment of the Environmental Justice and Equity Advisory Board to advise DEQ in the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies
- The 500th brownfields redevelopment project, representing a programmatic milestone
